Schneider Electric Secures $2.3 Billion in Data Center Deals to Address AI-Driven Power Demand
Schneider Electric has inked two major contracts totaling $2.3 billion with U.S. data center operators Switch and Digital Realty. The agreements aim to alleviate strain on power grids caused by surging electricity demands from AI workloads.
A $1.9 billion deal with Switch includes advanced cooling systems and power modules, marking Schneider's largest North American cooling contract to date. The $373 million Digital Realty agreement covers uninterruptible power supplies and switchgear installations.
Both contracts will be implemented in phases through 2025-2026, expanding Schneider's role beyond server racks to comprehensive power and thermal management solutions. The company notes existing infrastructure was never designed to handle AI's intensive requirements.
